Do you want perfect brows?
Are you tired of filling in your brows? Have you used every product on the market to shape and fill them in? Then microblading—a more permanent solution to thin brows, will change your brow life. The Microblading technique is a semi-permanent way to keep your brows looking perfect. Lauren Monroe from Tanyas Image & Wellness Salon Hyde Park in Cincinnati is a microblading expert. I asked Lauren Monroe, aka The Eyebrow Whisperer, to find out everything you need to know about the treatment.
Is Microblading a tattoo?
Microblading is a form of tattoo where pigment is implanted under your skin with a handheld tool instead of a machine," Lauren explains. "I draw hair-like strokes to mimic natural hairs in your brows. It's not as deep as a regular tattoo, but it's still a tattoo because pigment is implanted under the skin."
If you drink a lot, take aspirin, or use retinol, stop one week before your treatment. "Retinol makes your skin thin and then you bleed a little more," Lauren says. "Avoid blood thinners, aspirin, and alcohol."
Does it Hurt?
Pain is relative. "Some feel more than others. Overall it feels like little scratches. You feel it, but it's not unbearable. Lauren uses a topical numbing cream that helps relieve any discomfort.
How Long does it take?
"I don't like to rush anyone," says Lauren, who blocks off two hours for new clients.
The Perfecting session that happens 6-8 weeks from the first session fills in all the areas that may have faded to much. This session takes one hour and thirty minutes.
Do I need to do anything after they are done?
Protecting freshly bladed brows from all moisture–no sweaty workouts or washing your face with water. Some patients experience itching and redness during the first two weeks, which the aftercare ointments provided during your first appointment can alleviate. Brows will look slightly darker at first, but the color will fade 30 to 40 percent. " They look great right away and you don't have to hide," Lauren says. "Slight redness and mild swelling is normal."
How long does it last?
Depending on the skin and lifestyle, clients come back for touch-ups once every six months.

a smooth, frizz-free look,” says Tanya. Including the new
